• H&M operates in 41 markets and has 87,000 employees.
• H&M was established in Vasteras, Sweden in 1947 by Erling Persson.
• Today, the collections are created centrally around 100 in-house designers together with buyers and pattern makers.   
• H&M does not own any factories, but instead buys its goods from 700 independent suppliers, mainly in Asia and Europe.
• In 2000, H&M opened its first store in the United States on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, New york. Today there are 213 stores in the USA.
• Karl-Johan Persson is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.  Stefan Persson is titled the Chairman of the Board of H&M. Ann-Sofie Johansson is the head of design.  Mia Brunell Vivfors is the President and Chief Executive Officer at Investment AB Kinnevik. Anders Dahlvig's primary occupation is board assignments. Christian Sievert is the CEO of Segulah.
